Recurring Fault
By Rebelgirl

B'Elanna just managed to swerve her body through the closing doors of the turbolift before they shut. She grinned mischievously at Seven. "Thought I was gonna miss you."

"Had you continued speaking with the Captain for 2.3 seconds longer you would have, regardless of your," she paused a beat, "gymnastics."

The engineer's grin widened wolfishly. "That wasn't my choice. Janeway insisted that she make sure my intentions are honourable."

"Considering your Klingon heritage, I would have thought that was a moot point," the tall blonde retorted wryly.

"That's what I said."

"So she will perform the ceremony?" Seven asked.

B'Elanna stood back slightly and folded her arms self- confidently. "Of course. Two weeks today in fact."

At the news the ex-drone behaved in a decidedly non-Borg manner and squealed with delight, before throwing her arms round her lover. "That's wonderful!"

B'Elanna reacted immediately by wrapping her arms round Seven and hugging her tightly. She brushed her lips over Seven's briefly before smiling again. "I know; I'm good. So what's my reward?"

"Computer, halt turbolift," Seven stated softly as her lips descended back over the smaller woman's.

B'Elanna melted into the brace, savouring the soft gentle press before deepening the caress and brushing her tongue gently across Seven's full mouth.

Immediately, Seven reacted and the two women languidly continued their exploration of each other's mouths, hands wandering randomly but firmly.

Eventually, the kiss came to a natural conclusion and they rested their foreheads against each other.

"I love you," Seven whispered softly.

"I love you too," returned B'Elanna equally quietly. "But if I don't get to Engineering, Janeway will be on my case, and I have to watch my step round your `mother' for the next two weeks."

Seven grinned and then smiled more naturally as she thought of Janeway's over protectiveness. "I am lucky to have not just your love," she remarked. "Computer, resume," she called out slightly more loudly, pulling away from B'Elanna's embrace.

"Unable to comply. Turbolift is currently off-line," the disembodied voice replied.

"Not again," B'Elanna exclaimed in dismay. "That's the third time in two days. What the hell is it with this lift?" She stalked over to the access panel and yanked it off viciously.

Seven reacted more logically. "Seven to Engineering."

"Nicoletti here. What can I do for you?" The warm tones of the red- haired engineer floated over the comm.

"Turbolift 4 is offline. We would appreciate your assistance in its repair."

B'Elanna rolled her eyes at Seven's choice of words and waited for the retort.

"We, Seven?" Nicoletti probed, a hint of humour in her voice.

"Lieutenant Torres and myself," Seven clarified immediately and frowned as she heard B'Elanna groan slightly.

"You two again? Can't you find somewhere more original?" Nicoletti teased.

"Keep it up Nicoletti and you'll be cleaning the Bussard Collectors on Gamma Shift with your toothbrush for the rest of the trip home," B'Elanna growled.

"We're on the case, Lieutenant." Nicoletti sobered instantly. "Looks like one of the relays has malfunctioned. It should take about 30 minutes to isolate and repair."

Seven smiled. "Contact us when you affect the repair, or if the situation changes," she requested formally. She turned round and tugged B'Elanna away from the access panel, stepping into another lazy embrace.

"You don't want us to beam you out?" Nicoletti enquired almost too innocently.

"Nah, Voyager needs to save energy," B'Elanna interjected, running her hands through Seven's blonde tresses.

"Torres out." She closed the comm. link before softly kissing Seven's lips once again. "And I have energy I need to expend," she growled before the lovers embraced again heatedly.
