Going Home
By Erin Griffin

"I want to meet your family," Helena said out of the blue as she kissed the back of Myka's hand.

"You live here in the Warehouse. You've met my family," Myka replied easily.

"No. Myka...." Helena's eyes met with her lover's, and a moment later she said, "I want to meet your family. Your parents."

"How do you think that would work out, huh?" Myka sat up and considered Helena seriously. " 'Hey, this is my girlfriend HG Wells. Yes, 'the' HG Wells. Did I mention she was really a woman?'"

"I don't have to be 'the' HG Wells. I can just be Helena, can't I?"

"Yes. You're right, I am sorry. Next month when we go home for Thanksgiving, I'll take you with me. I know my father would love talking to you."

Helena smiled at this. "I just... I want to be a part of your life. All of it."

"You are," Myka said simply. She leaned in and kissed her partner, and she could feel the tension melt away as she eased her fears.
