CHAPTER 5

"How long do you think it will take?" Elliot checked his watch again for the third time.

"It's hard to tell, no one wants to jump the gun on a murder trial, even if it's obvious the defendant is guilty." Alex managed to provoke the defendant into an angry outburst during her testimony and Antonio gave an eyewitness account of his parent's murder and the attempted murder on his own life. Casey was confident it would be enough to convince the jury of the defendant's guilt. Now it was just a matter of waiting for the verdict. They secured one of the holding rooms at the Court House and waited.

Alex stood up and stretched her legs. "I always did hate waiting for the verdict." She glanced over at Olivia and gave her a small smile.

Olivia sat quietly at the table, looking at Alex. Elliot could see the silent interaction between the two. "Anyone want some coffee? Casey, you want to get some coffee with me?"

"None for me," just as Casey answered, she noticed Elliot nod his head toward the door indicating that she should come with him, "but I wouldn't mind taking a walk. Can we get the two of you anything?"

"No thanks." Alex shook her head and glanced over to Olivia.

"Nothing for me."

"Okay then. There's a uniform outside, I'll make sure he stays put and doesn't let anyone in." Elliot looked at the both of them as he said this. Olivia made a mental note to thank her partner later for giving her time alone with Alex.

As soon as Elliot and Casey left the room, Olivia stood up and walked over to Alex. "You look nervous." She reached out and held Alex's hand.

Alex had a serious expression on her face. "Now that I have finished testifying, I don't know how much longer I will be here." She handed the detective a small piece of paper. "Take this."

Olivia unfolded the paper. "An e-mail address?"

"And a password. Wait about a month then check this address. By then I should be settled and I will be able to write."

As much as Olivia wanted to keep in touch with Alex, she would never do anything to endanger her. "Should you be doing this?"

"No. But I'm doing it anyway." Alex buried her face in her hands. She could feel the tears forming in her eyes.

"It's okay sweetie, don't cry … don't cry." Olivia pulled Alex into a hug. "Don't cry," she whispered again. "If you cry then I'll start to cry." She stroked Alex's hair.

Alex buried her face in Olivia's neck. "That would ruin you reputation with the perps."

"I'd have to get a desk job."

"You'd never make it." Alex smiled and looked up at Olivia.

"I'd have to retire," Olivia laughed.

Alex reached up and ran her hand through Olivia's short hair, brushing her bangs out of her eyes. "Olivia, I need you in my life, even if it's only through e-mail. I don't think I could handle it if I could never contact you. If you are not in my life then what is the point of going into witness protection … to save my life only to be dying inside?" She sighed softly, "I'm not sure it's worth it."

"It's worth it Alex … you're alive." Olivia took Alex's hand and kissed her palm. "We'll figure something out Alex. I'll memorize the address and password and check it in a month."

"Thank you." She whispered, wrapping her arms around Olivia's neck and hugging her.

"We'll be careful. Use codes, an alias … something." Olivia stroked Alex's hair, placing a small kiss on the top of her head. "I'll make sure it's safe Alex. Don't worry."

Alex pulled back and kissed Olivia lightly on the lips. They stared at each other for a moment before Alex leaned in for another kiss. Olivia wrapped her arms around Alex and pulled her closer, deepening the kiss. When they parted, they could both see the intensity and desire in each other's eyes.

"I can't get enough of you," Alex breathed, capturing another kiss from Olivia. "Call Elliot."

"Why?" Olivia stopped herself. It didn't matter why Alex needed to talk to Elliot, she would do anything for her. Olivia flipped open her phone and dialed her partner's number.

Elliot felt his phone ring; looking at the number, he answered the call. "What's up?"

"Alex wants to speak to you." Olivia handed Alex the phone.

"Elliot, I need a favor."

"What can I do for you Counselor?" Alex smiled, she would never admit to it, but she missed being called Counselor.

"Where are you right now?"

"Down the hall from the room, talking with Casey. Hammond was looking for you, I told him you were in a meeting."

"Thanks. Elliot … do you think you could find a private bathroom for me?"

He thought for a moment before answering. "How private do you need it?"

Alex looked over at Olivia. "Very."

Elliot cleared his throat. "The one down the hall is public, but I can secure it for you." He knew exactly what the counselor had in mind and the thought of his partner and Alex having sex in a public bathroom was making him a little uncomfortable … in a good way.

"I owe you one. We'll meet you outside." Alex handed the phone back to Olivia. "I need you in the bathroom."

Olivia could not believe what Alex was suggesting, but she was not going to turn her down. She walked towards the door and motioned Alex to follow her.

Elliot and Casey were waiting outside the room talking. Years of being a detective allowed him to keep a straight face when his partner and Alex walked out. "Everything's set. The bathroom's secure; Olivia will go in with you and I'll take the outside."

"Good." Alex walked towards the bathroom and looked over at Olivia. "You coming?"

"Oh yeah … she's coming." Elliot said under his breath. Olivia shot her partner a dirty look.

"What did you say?" Casey asked innocently.

"I said 'let's get going'." Elliot grinned.

"Well, I need to get some files on the Turner case, so I'll meet you back here." Casey watched as Alex, Olivia and Elliot walked towards the bathroom. She couldn't quite put her finger on it, but something didn't seem right. She shook the thought out of her head and walked to her office.

Once inside the bathroom, Alex pushed Olivia to the far corner of the room and up against the wall. She immediately began kissing Olivia, her hands roaming over Olivia's body, pulling her shirt out of her pants. She unbuckled Olivia's belt. "Turn around and face the wall, put you hands above your head."

Olivia did as she was told, letting Alex take complete control. She faced the wall, hands above her head, and palms flat against the wall. Alex reached under Olivia's shirt, pushed up her bra, and cupped her breasts. "God, Alex … you're going to make me come just by touching me."

"Good. Spread your legs." Alex kissed the back of her neck and reached down to unzip Olivia's pants. Her left hand massaged and tweaked Olivia's nipple, while her other hand slid into Olivia's pants.

She tapped the inside of Olivia's foot to widen her stance. "Spread your legs wider, I want to be able to get inside of you." Alex had just enough room to slide her fingers into Olivia's wet center.

Alex kissed the back of Olivia's neck, one hand massaging her breasts, and the other hand thrusting in and out of Olivia's slick folds.

"Oh God … I'm close."

"Olivia," they could hear Elliot yell from outside the door, "Casey needs to talk to you."

"Shit … shit!" Olivia started to turn around but Alex kept her body in place, pushing her up against the wall. Alex pulled harder on her nipple and thrust her fingers faster into Olivia. "Alex … oh God … don't stop … don't stop." She tried not to scream.

"Give us a minute." Alex yelled back to the door hoping Elliot could hear her, praying he would be able to stall Casey.

"Almost there … " Olivia whispered, trying to catch her breath. She grabbed the waste band of her pants and pushed them lower to give Alex more room. Alex responded by adjusting her hand so her fingers could go deeper. Olivia placed her hand on top of Alex's hand, guiding it faster and harder. Alex continued to thrust inside of Olivia, sucking and kissing the back of her neck. She bit down softly when she felt Olivia's body tense, and wrapped her arm around Olivia's waist to keep her from falling.

Alex could hear Casey and Elliot talking outside the door. She tugged Olivia's pants up and pushed her into the nearest stall. Closing the stall door, she turned around and walked over to the sink just as Casey walked in.

"Where's Olivia?"

Alex did not look up. She turned on the water to wash her hands. "She's in there." Alex nodded in the direction of the stall. Just then, they heard the toilet flush.

Olivia came out fixing her belt, walked over to the sink, and nodded in Casey's direction.

Turning on the water she quickly glanced over at Alex who had a small grin on her lips. Olivia cleared her throat. "Any word yet … on the verdict."

"No." Casey looked from Alex to Olivia, then back to Alex.

"Did you need something Casey?" Olivia looked at Casey's reflection in the mirror.

"What?" Casey was not paying attention.

Olivia turned around to face Casey. "You needed to talk to me?"

"Oh, uh yes … I have a question about the Turner case. I figured while we were waiting for the verdict I could get some work done. Do you have a minute to go over some questions?"

"Can't Elliot help you?" The last thing Olivia wanted to do was leave Alex.

"No. I have a question about your notes, but if it's a bad time …" she looked at Alex, then back at Olivia. "Did I interrupt something?"

Olivia ran her hand nervously through her hair and looked down at her shoes.

"Actually you did." Alex spoke up. Olivia closed her eyes and held her breath.

"I … well you can imagine how emotional everything has been. Coming back to New York, reliving the shooting … testifying. I was feeling a little overwhelmed and I needed a moment to compose myself, away from everybody."

"I can understand that. I'm sorry for intruding." Casey said sincerely.

"No problem. We should probably get out of here before Elliot comes in looking for us."

Casey grabbed Olivia's arm as they walked to the door. "Wait."

"What?" Olivia stopped and looked back at Casey.

Casey grabbed a kleenex off the bathroom counter and wiped the back of Olivia's neck. She handed it to Olivia, a red smudge on the tissue. "You wouldn't want to go out there with lipstick on your neck Detective. And you should probably pull your shirt collar a little higher, you don't want that bite mark showing." Casey smiled at Olivia and walked out the bathroom.

"Shit." Olivia followed her out of the bathroom, pulling her shirt closer to her neck. She eyed her partner who was grinning from ear to ear.

"What took you so long?" Elliot whispered in her ear as she walked past him.

Olivia glanced back at her partner. "Wardrobe malfunction."

Elliot shook his head and smiled.

CHAPTER 6

"Casey has some questions on the Turner case," Olivia informed her partner.

"It's just a couple of questions, shouldn't take long." Casey turned and looked at Olivia. "I know you need to get back to Alex," she said with a smirk. Olivia raised her eyebrow at Casey's comment.

"You're still in charge of her safety, at least until the trial is over. It won't take long," Casey added.

"Hey don't worry," Elliot chimed in, "I'll keep Alex company." He was not sure what had happened in the bathroom after Casey went in, but he could feel the tension in the air.

"Let's get this over with Counselor," Olivia said impatiently and nodded to the bench down the hall. She turned to Alex, "We'll be over there if you need anything."

Alex touched Olivia's arm and gave her a small smile. "I'll be here when you get back," she whispered.

Elliot and Alex walked in silence back to the room. Once inside, they stared at each other for a moment before they burst out laughing.

"Getting a little risqué in your old age counselor?" Elliot said with a chuckle.

Without missing a beat, Alex responded. "Getting shot, almost dying and going into witness protection will do that to you."

"Touché."

Alex sat down and motioned Elliot to sit across from her. She reached over the table and covered Elliot's hand with her own. "Thanks Elliot. For everything."

Elliot waved her off. "Liv's my partner." That one simple statement held so much meaning. He looked at Alex, wondering if he should continue, then it occurred to him she would probably be gone soon. "I know what it's like to want to be with the person you love, how hard it is to be separated from the love of your life."

Alex nodded in understanding. "I hope it works out for you and Kathy."

"Thanks." Elliot

"I'm glad Olivia has you in her life. I know you will take good care of her when I'm gone."

"I will." Elliot could see how difficult this was for Alex. He wanted to tell her everything would work out, but he knew it was only words. All he could do was reassure Alex that he would look after Olivia.

"Do me a favor, Elliot."

"It's not going to be like the last one is it? I don't think my hormones can handle another bathroom break." Elliot grinned.

Alex blushed lightly at his statement. "I think my bathroom breaks are over." Alex meant it to be a joke, but the honesty of her statement hit her. Elliot saw a flash of pain cross her face.

"You can't hold it in forever Alex. Eventually you will have to go again. Just remember there are other bathrooms."

"But the bathroom down the hall will always be my favorite," she said with a smile.

"After today, it's my favorite also." Elliot's attempt to make Alex laugh worked. "So about that favor you wanted …"

"Be supportive of whomever Olivia dates … don't give her a hard time about it." Olivia had confided in Alex about having lunch with Trevor Langan. She had given Olivia a hard time about Trevor; she could only imagine what Elliot would say.

"Is there something I need to know?" he asked, confused.

"No," Alex sighed, "it will be hard for her to move on after I'm gone. When she does …"

"I'll be there."

Olivia walked in the room and sat down next to Alex. "I thought she would never stop talking."

"Yeah, well you should have been with her earlier," Elliot shook his head and smiled. "She wanted to know why I asked her to step out the room to get coffee. Then she wanted to know why I was trying to keep her out of the bathroom."

Olivia reached over and held Alex's hand under the table. "What did you tell her?"

"I told her the two of you were friends and needed time to talk," he said seriously.

"And …" Olivia knew there was more.

"And," Elliot grinned, "I told her she didn't stand a chance with you."

"Casey's gay?" Alex asked surprised.

Elliot turned to Alex and shrugged, "Rumor has it she is."

"Rumor?" Olivia rolled her eyes and laughed. "I think you guys make that stuff up just to get your rocks off."

"You didn't really say that to Casey … did you." Alex was certain Elliot was joking, but the detective had surprised her lately.

"Nah, but I wanted too," Elliot chuckled.

"Is Casey interested in you?" Alex asked curiously.

Olivia shook her head. "No."

"For someone who is not interested, she sure in hell checks you out when you're not looking," Elliot teased.

Alex laughed, "If I remember correctly, most of the men and half the women checked out Olivia when she wasn't looking."

"Including you, it seems," Elliot answered with a huge grin.

"Excuse me," Olivia waved her hands, "I'm still in the room. Can you stop talking about me?"

"Sorry." Alex and Elliot said in unison.

"Are you interested in Casey?" Elliot asked Olivia innocently. He had promised Alex to be supportive of whomever Olivia dated. He was hopping it was not Casey, but if it were, he would do his best to support his partner.

"She's not bad looking," Alex added.

Olivia stared at Elliot and Alex. "Have you lost your mind … the both of you?"

"Thank God." Elliot breathed a sigh of relief.

"After I'm gone, she might be someone to consider." Alex smiled, she was having fun teasing Olivia.

"There is something really wrong here. Why are trying to set me up with Casey right after you and I, uh …," Olivia looked over at Elliot and lost her train of thought.

"Had sex on the bathroom." Elliot said nonchalantly.

Olivia covered her face with her hands and shook her head. "I can't believe this. Elliot knows more about my sex life than any partner has the right to know and Casey busted us in the bathroom."

"Casey busted you," Elliot looked over at Alex, "you didn't tell me that."

"She didn't exactly catch us in the act." Alex was blushing.

"No, but she did see your lipstick on the back of my neck," Olivia looked down at the table, "and the bite mark."

"Bite mark? No way!" Elliot winked at Alex. "I never would have pegged you for a biter."

Alex covered her face with her hands. "I think it's time for me to go back into witness protection," she said shyly.

"I'm sorry Alex," Olivia began laughing, "I guess I should have kept that bit of information to myself."

"You don't seem very sorry." Alex tried to sound mad, but she started laughing when she heard Elliot chuckle lightly.

All three of them were laughing when Casey walked in with Agent Hammond. "What's so funny?" Casey asked curiously.

Elliot did his best to stop laughing. "Nothing."

"Uh huh … well, it doesn't look like we will be getting a verdict today," Casey announced.

"What's the plan?" Olivia asked.

Agent Hammond spoke up, "You can take Ms. Cabot back to the room. Do you need one of my men to stay with her?"

"We've got it covered." Olivia answered hurriedly.

Hammond nodded his head. "Ms. Cabot, I need to speak with you before they take you back to your room. In private."

"Okay." Alex looked at Olivia. "Give me a minute."

Casey and Elliot walked out of the room, followed by Olivia. She turned to Alex before closing the door. "Take your time, I'll be waiting outside."

CHAPTER 7

Elliot drove Alex and Olivia back to the hotel. They sat quietly in the back seat while Alex rested her head on Olivia's shoulder. Several times during the drive, Elliot caught a glimpse of his partner kissing Alex's forehead. He dropped them off at the hotel, making sure they returned to the room safely before leaving. They changed clothes then sat down to eat the food they picked up on the drive back.

"You haven't eaten much." Olivia looked over at Alex's plate of food.

Alex put her fork down and rubbed the back of her neck. "I'm not very hungry."

"You okay?"

"Just tired … and a little stiff." She rubbed her neck again.

Olivia stood up from the table and held her hand out to Alex. "Come here." Taking Alex's hand, she led her over to the bed. Without saying a word, Olivia grabbed the hem of Alex's shirt, pulled it over her head, then bent down and removed Alex's shoes and socks.

"What are you doing?" Alex said with a grin.

"Taking care of you," Olivia replied softly.

Alex could hear the tenderness in Olivia's voice. She ran her fingers through brunette's hair.

Olivia stood up, placed her hands on Alex's hips then kissed her softly on the lips. She undid Alex's jeans and slowly pulled them down, placing small kisses on Alex's stomach as she knelt on the floor to retrieve them. Olivia stood up slowly, not taking her eyes off Alex. "You're so beautiful. I never get tired of looking at you."

Alex stood before Olivia in her bra and panties. She leaned forward and gave Olivia a gentle kiss. Olivia responded by placing her hands on Alex's shoulders, slowly massaging the back of her neck.

"Hmm, that feels good."

"I didn't hurt you last night … did I?"

"I'm a little sore, but in a good way." Alex winked at Olivia.

Olivia leaned in for another kiss, and then rested her forehead against Alex. "I'll be sure to take care of that later."

"I'm going to hold you to that."

"Scoot on to the bed and get comfortable. I'll be right back." Olivia walked into the bathroom.

Alex crawled on the bed, laid down, and propped her head up with her arm as she waited for Olivia to get out of the bathroom. "What are you doing in there?" She could hear Olivia moving around.

"You're suppose to be relaxing," Olivia yelled from the bathroom. She returned with a small bottle in her hand.

"What's that?" Alex asked.

"Lotion." Olivia pitched the bottle on the bed next to Alex. She kicked her shoes off and removed her top shirt and jeans. Alex sat up in bed, giving Olivia an approving look.

"I thought I told you to relax," Olivia laughed and knelt on the bed.

"How am I supposed to relax with you looking like that?" Alex reached up and touched Olivia's face with the palm of her hand. "You're beautiful," she said softly.

"Flattery will get you every where." Olivia kissed Alex's palm. "Now … lay down on your stomach and get comfortable."

"Okay … okay." Alex smiled and rolled over on her stomach, resting her head on the pillow.

Olivia nudged Alex's legs apart with her knee. With a leg on each side of Alex's thigh, she sat down lightly, careful not to get too close to the blonde's center. Olivia adjusted her body to get comfortable then took off her ring and watch, placing them on the nightstand. She poured some lotion on her palm and rubbed her hands together.

Alex felt the warm lotion on Olivia's palms as her lover gently began to massage her neck and shoulders.

"That feels good," Alex purred.

Olivia silently continued to massage Alex's upper back, taking her time, enjoying the feel of Alex's skin beneath her hands. Neither one spoke, both content with the quiet intimacy. Olivia undid the clasp of Alex's bra and pushed the straps off her shoulders.

"What did Hammond want to talk to you about?" Olivia poured more lotion in her hands and continued rubbing Alex's back.

"I was wondering when you were going to ask."

"You've been quiet ever since you talked to him."

"I know, I'm sorry." Alex sighed softly.

"No need to apologize." Olivia leaned down and kissed Alex's shoulder. "I guess it wasn't good news."

Alex turned over and looked at Olivia, she could feel tears forming in her eyes. "I leave after the verdict."

Olivia repositioned herself on Alex's leg and bent down, kissing her softly on her lips. Removing Alex's bra, she continued with her massage, rubbing Alex's neck and shoulders. "Any idea where they will be sending you?"

Alex cleared her throat and took a deep breath. "No, but they are working it out so Antonio and I can relocate together, at least for now. He asked if he could stay with me."

"How do you feel about relocating with him?"

Alex shrugged her shoulders, "I think it could be good for the both of us." She paused for a moment before continuing. "Having him with me will give me something to do, besides think about you all day long."

Olivia smiled, "Alex as a mother …"

Alex shook her head. "There's no way I could pass for Antonio's mother, not with his dark complexion and dark hair … maybe as his aunt."

Olivia looked at Alex, a serious expression on her face. "I wish I could marry you and have a child with you."

"I'd like that." Alex said softly.

Olivia leaned over and picked up her ring from the nightstand. "I want you to have this … it belonged to my mother."

"I can't take your mother's ring. That's something you should keep."

"I want you to have it, Alex."

"Are you asking me to marry you?" Alex asked nervously.

"I want to." Olivia cupped Alex's face with her hand and softly stroked her cheek.

"I would say 'yes'."

"I know." Olivia whispered.

"I want to ask you to come with me, but I know that's not the answer." Olivia could hear the sadness in Alex's voice.

"I wish it were that simple, but you and I both know that the pressure of living in hiding, taking me away from my life here, not being able to be a detective, … sooner or later it would take it's toll on us." Olivia held Alex's hand and slipped the ring on her finger. "I want to remember what I have with you now and hope that one day we can have it again. Until then, keep this ring, so that no matter where you go, you will always know how much I love you."

Alex held up her hand, looked at the ring on her finger, and asked softly, "Are you going to ask me?"

"I want to, but I can't ask you to marry me right now." Olivia hesitated before continuing. "It could be a long time before we have the opportunity to be together. A lot can happen."

"I know. I don't really want to think about that."

Olivia laughed softly. "Me either, but I think we should talk about what happens after you leave … about us. I love you, Alex … I just want you to be happy and enjoy life. I don't want you to be alone."

"I don't want anyone else but you." Alex replied softly.

Olivia laid down beside Alex, wrapping an arm around her waist. "Believe me, I don't want you to be with anyone else either. I want us to be together."

"But …" Alex questioned.

"If something does happen, if you do meet someone, I want you to know it's okay."

"I know we were joking earlier about Casey, but to be honest, I don't want you to be with her or anyone else." Alex rested her head on Olivia's shoulder, and snuggled into her body. "I can't imagine loving anyone else but you, Olivia."

Olivia hugged Alex closer and kissed her forehead. "I know. Me either."

Alex knew Olivia was right. To try to hold on to each other would only hurt them in the end. Neither one knew how long it would be before it would be safe for Alex to return.

"Okay," Alex said reluctantly. "If I meet someone I'll keep an open mind, but I expect you to do the same." She looked up and held Olivia's gaze. "I don't want you to be alone either."

Olivia thought for a moment then nodded. "Fair enough."

They were both silent, looking at each other. "Alex … I have never loved anyone the way I love you right now. When all of this is over, if we still feel the same way about each other, I will ask you to marry me."

"Is that a promise?" Alex smiled.

"That's a promise." Olivia sealed her statement with a kiss. She lightly trailed her fingers across Alex's chest, stopping to touch the scar on her shoulder. "Does it hurt … where the bullet was taken out?"

"Not really, sometimes when the weather changes or if I over do it."

"I love the feel of your skin … soft, but strong underneath." Olivia placed a small kiss on Alex's shoulder, next to the scar. She slowly ran her fingers along Alex's chest, making her way between Alex's breast and down to her stomach. Alex's breathing increased as Olivia rubbed her stomach with long, slow strokes.

Olivia leaned over and trailed light kisses on Alex's breasts and down her stomach. She moved further down the bed until her head rested between Alex's legs. Alex opened her legs wider and Olivia slowly parted her folds and ran her tongue over Alex's wetness. She placed her hand underneath Alex, pushing Alex's center closer to her mouth and tongue. Olivia slowly increased the speed, concentrating on Alex's hard bud. She could feel Alex's wetness on her chin. Olivia took her time, sucking and teasing, increasing the pressure, then letting off, wanting to slowly building Alex to her climax.

Alex could feel the tightness building. She grabbed Olivia's hair and kept her head in place between her legs. "Go inside of me."

Olivia inserted her finger slowly, sliding in and out, while sucking on Alex's hard bud. She continued her pace, taking her time, building Alex to her release. She could feel the spot inside Alex that needed to be stimulated. Adding another finger, she started to stroke inside. Alex let out a deep, pleasurable moan. Olivia could feel a gush of wetness between Alex's legs as she climaxed.

"God … what you do to me." Alex took several deep breaths.

Olivia waited a moment then removed her fingers from inside of Alex and moved up to kiss her. "I take it you liked that?"

Alex took Olivia's face in her hands and kissed her. She slowly stroked Olivia's cheek, pushing her damp bangs away from her face. "I love you so much."

"I love you too." Olivia kissed Alex lightly on the lips.

"I need more."

Olivia stared into Alex's eyes and could tell she was still aroused. "Anything."

"I need to feel you inside of me, to feel the fullness of you inside of me … use your hand."

Olivia understood what Alex was asking. The thought of inserting her hand into Alex was both frightening and stimulating. She lightly caressed Alex's cheek with her hand and brushed Alex's hair away from her face. "I've…" Olivia looked away shyly, then turned back to look at Alex, "I've never done that before, I'm afraid I might hurt you."

"You won't hurt me, Olivia. I trust you." Alex could see the conflict in Olivia. "Right now I have this overwhelming desire to have you inside of me … for you to completely fill me."

They stared at each other quietly for a moment. Olivia looked into Alex's eyes and saw her desire and need. She moved her hand lower as she leaned in and kissed Alex softly. "Tell me what to do."

Alex wrapped her arms around Olivia's neck. "Just go slow and take your time. Listen to my body." She kissed Olivia's cheek. "I'll let you know what I need and when I'm ready."

Olivia started to slowly stimulate Alex with her hand. She could feel Alex becoming wet again and she slowly inserted her finger into Alex's slick folds. Taking her time, Olivia inserted another finger. She moved her two fingers in and out of Alex's wet center. Coating her fingers with Alex's wetness, Olivia slowly inserted another finger.

She gently moved in and out of Alex's opening. Olivia could feel Alex opening up and she watched her as she inserted another finger. She squeezed her four fingers together, getting them as close together as possible, her index finger and pinkie finger underneath the other two. Olivia slowly moved her fingers in and out of Alex and used her thumb to stimulate her.

Alex's wetness ran down her thighs, making her folds slick. Olivia continued sliding slowly in and out, as far as she could go, stopping when she met resistance. Alex tried to keep her eyes open, to watch her lover, but the sensation felt so good, she closed her eyes and breathed deeply, relaxing her muscles to prepare herself for more. She could feel Olivia kiss her cheek as the brunette tucked her thumb under her other fingers and gently pushed until she met resistance. Olivia pulled back gently and pushed back into Alex's slick folds. She continued her slow and gentle pace. Each time, Alex opened up a little further to accept more of Olivia's hand.

Olivia pushed her hand a little deeper and heard Alex take a deep breathe. "Do you want me to stop?"

Alex shook her head no and continued to breath, concentrating on the feel of Olivia's hand. "Almost there," Alex whispered.

Olivia waited a moment, making sure Alex was ready, then she angled her hand with her palm up. She kept her thumb close to her palm, trying to make her hand as small as possible. Olivia pushed her hand slightly into Alex's slick folds. Taking her time, waiting to feel Alex open up again. Stopping when she felt resistance. Going a little deeper each time Alex relaxed. She knew Alex was close.

Alex groaned, breathing heavy. "Now … inside of me."

Olivia slid inside Alex a little more, twisting her hand to get it coated with Alex's wetness. She slowly pushed deeper, until she met resistance at Alex's opening. Twisting her hand again slightly, she pushed gently past the resistance, watching Alex for any signs that she should stop. Her hand was suddenly enveloped by Alex's warm, wet center. Olivia gently curled her fingers close to her palm, balling her hand into a small fist. She could feel the pressure of Alex's walls contracting around her hand.

"Oh God." Alex breathed out. Her lover filled her completely.

Olivia kept her hand still, letting Alex adjust to the feeling of her fist. She had never felt anything like this. Her hand was completely inside of Alex.

"Alex … look at me." Olivia whispered softly.

Alex opened her eyes and Olivia held her gaze as she gently moved her fist inside of her. Olivia twisted her hand slightly and it was enough to push Alex over the edge.

Arching her back, Alex screamed aloud from deep within her chest. Her orgasm was more intense than anything she had ever felt and it seemed to go on forever.

Alex's wetness coated Olivia's hand, her muscles contracting around her lover's fist. Olivia waited for Alex to catch her breath and relax. When the tightness around her fist lessened, Olivia slowly turned her hand and she could feel it being pushed out of Alex's center. Alex instantly missed the fullness.

Olivia reached up and kissed Alex, holding her close. "That was the most amazing thing I have ever felt … being inside of you. I could feel your orgasm when you tightened around my hand. I never … I had no idea."

"Neither did I."

Olivia looked at Alex puzzled. "You've never done this before?"

"No … you're the only one." Alex relaxed and snuggled into Olivia's body.

"But I thought …"

"I had a partner awhile back who wanted to do this. It wasn't something I wanted to try … until now. It felt right with you." Alex placed a kiss on Olivia chest. "I knew you wouldn't hurt me. I knew you would stop if I needed you to."

"Thank you." Olivia said softly.

"I'm the one who should be thanking you … that felt wonderful." Alex laughed lightly and yawned.

"I've never experienced anything like this. Thank you for sharing this with me." Olivia kissed Alex's forehead and pulled her closer.

"That makes two of us." Alex rested in Olivia's arms and sighed deeply.

Olivia gently stroked Alex's back, holding her close. They eventually fell asleep in each other's arms.

CHAPTER 8

"Please tell me there is coffee in one of those bags." Olivia eyed the two bags Elliot was holding as he stood in the doorway waiting for his partner to let him in the room.

"Good morning to you too. Where's Alex?" Elliot opened one of the bags and handed Olivia a warm styrofoam cup.

"Taking a shower." Olivia took a sip of her coffee. "Hmm … thanks. What's in there?" Olivia nodded toward the other bag Elliot was holding. He opened it and pulled out a bagel.

"Did I ever tell you that you're the best partner I ever had?" Olivia reached over and snatched the bagel from his hand.

Elliot rolled his eyes. "Who said you could have a bagel? I brought those for Alex." He sat down on the sofa with Olivia and sipped his coffee.

"Any word yet on the verdict?"

Elliot shook his head. "Not yet. Cragen told me to come over here and give you a break."

Olivia stared at her partner. "You don't actually think I'm going to leave."

"No, but I couldn't very well tell Cragen that it wasn't necessary for me to come over because you wanted to spend time with your girlfriend." Elliot chuckled. "He might not appreciate you having sex on department time."

"Hey, I had my gun by the bed; I would have shot anyone who tried to get in." Olivia protested.

"I bet you would have ... even me."

Olivia laughed. "My aim is good ... I'd have only wounded you."

Elliot laughed out loud as he got a mental picture of his partner shooting him in the leg for interrupting her and Alex in bed. He shook his head and looked over at Olivia. "So … how is everything?"

"Good." Olivia smiled.

"You doing okay?" He didn't normally pry into her personal life, but he knew the situation with Alex had to be difficult.

Olivia shrugged her shoulders. "Ask me again after Alex leaves."

"When does she leave?"

"Sometime after the verdict." Olivia answered softly. She avoid Elliot's gaze and took another sip of her coffee.

"Doesn't give you much time." Elliot frowned.

"No … but at least we had time." Olivia looked up at her partner. "Thanks Elliot … for everything."

"Anytime. If you ever need to talk … you know …"

"Yeah … I know. Same goes for you too."

Elliot nodded. "It looks good on you."

"What does?" Olivia asked curiously.

"Being in love … it suites you. I haven't seen you smile or laugh this much in a long time. Reminds me of when we first met … I miss that."

"I've missed you too Elliot." He had been so angry lately, Olivia didn't know how to talk to him anymore. They had grown apart.

"I guess neither one of us has had much to smile or laugh about lately." Elliot was still having trouble adjusting to the breakup of his marriage and he knew Olivia had been struggling with her own emotions ever since Alex was forced into witness protection.

"What happened to us Elliot? When did we get to be so serious that we stopped laughing … and making each other laugh?" Olivia remembered how they used to joke around with each other to lighten the mood, especially after difficult cases.

Elliot shrugged his shoulders. "Nature of the work ... life ... who knows."

"Remember the time we messed with Munch's chair." Olivia smiled thinking about the prank they had pulled on their fellow detective. They raised and lowered his desk chair slightly each day. "It took him a week to figure out what we were doing."

Elliot laughed. "What about the time we kept hiding his favorite pen. Just when he thought he had misplaced it, the pen would show up on his desk. Munch thought he was going crazy. One minute it would be on his desk, the next it would be gone. He could never figure out who did it ..."

"Because we were all in on it ... even Cragen." Olivia chuckled. "I can't believe we used to play such juvenile tricks on each other."

"Yeah ... but it made us laugh." Elliot grinned and looked at Olivia mischievously. "Maybe when we get back to the station we can lower Munch's chair again."

Olivia was about to agree with Elliot when she heard the bathroom door open.

"Is that coffee I smell?" Alex came out of the bathroom, dressed in jeans and a shirt, drying her hair with a towel.

"Elliot came with coffee and bagels."

"You're a life saver. Thanks." Alex picked up the cup of coffee Elliot brought for her and sat next to Olivia.

"There were more bagels, but Olivia ate one." Elliot added.

"Well … you know she has to keep up her energy." Alex winked at Olivia.

"Yeah … it's a tough job guarding Alex. She's so demanding."

"Uh huh … but somebody has to do it." Elliot shook his head. "Speaking of guarding Alex, I talked to Cragen and Hammond this morning. They want you staying here until the trials over. He sent me to relieve Olivia."

Alex turned to Olivia. "You have to leave?" The sadness in her voice was evident.

"I'm not leaving." Olivia said softly and squeezed Alex's hand.

Elliot spoke up. "Until further notice, you're our priority. Olivia and I are supposed to take shifts. I have to be here for my shift unless I want to do some explaining to Cragen, but Olivia is welcome to stay here with us if she wants to." Elliot grinned. "Maybe we could send her out for more bagels later."

"I'm sure I can convince her." Alex bumped Olivia with her shoulder. "We'll try not to make you too uncomfortable with our PDA."

"With your what?" Elliot asked confused.

"Public display of affect." Olivia added. She leaned over and kissed Alex lightly. "I need to shower. The two of you behave and don't talk about me while I'm gone."

"Wouldn't dream of it." Elliot answered sarcastically.

As soon as Elliot heard the shower going he turned to Alex. "Okay … tell me something you did with Olivia that I can embarrass her with when she gets back."

"What?" Alex asked, not sure she had heard the detective correctly.

"Come on Alex ... give me some scoop," Elliot pleaded, "don't you think it would be fun to make her blush later? She's cute when she blushes."

"You're bad." Alex laughed and swatted Elliot's arm. "Give me a minute to think of something."

"Yes!" Elliot raised his fists in victory. "I like this side of you Counselor. I never realized you had such a sense of humor." He thought for a moment then added seriously, "I'm going to miss you Alex."

"I'm going to miss you too, Elliot. I'm glad we had the chance to get to know each other … as friends."

Their conversation was interrupted by the ringing of Olivia's cell phone.

Elliot yelled to his partner in the bathroom. "Hey Liv, your phone's ringing."

Olivia, still wet from the shower, peaked out of the bathroom door. "What?"

"Your phone's ringing." Elliot nodded to her phone on the side table.

"See who it is." She grabbed a towel and started to dry off.

Elliot picked up her phone and glanced at the display. Olivia could see the confused look on his face.

"Who is it?"

"Trevor Langan."
