The One where Everything Goes to Hell
Recap by Misty Flores
Previously on LHDP: Sequestered in a beach town, Lucas and Sara decided to get married, but their impending flight from the country has been delayed by Lucas' determination to bring the Kaiser down once and for all.
Meanwhile, Paco and Mariano are now at odds over the discovery that Mariano is sleeping with Commander Salgado. Salgado, after some wise words from Montoya, has finally given up on her quest to find Lucas.
Lucas calls Paco and Mariano and tells them he knows exactly where the Kaiser's gang will strike, and he needs the best of who they have to take them down.
EPISODE 4x26: The One with the Mind-Melding, Part I
Lola gives a voiceover about what it means for a parent to see their child get married. We see flashes of scenes to come.
And we end with a picture of a bloody bouquet.
Fun times ahead, folks.
THE BRIEFING ROOM: 7 Hours Earlier
Paco and Mariano have gathered his most trusted Hombres: Curtis, Rita and Povedilla. Quique is still in the hospital. Also added to the line up are Silvia and Pepa.
They stand and listen as Paco shuts the blinds and begins his speech.
PACO: Gentlemen, everything that you're going to hear is top secret and strictly confidential. No one, not even the Commissioner, not even the Commander, knows what we're about to tell you. Therefore, I need to ask for your total silence.
The group glances at each other apprehensively, unsure of what's coming.
PACO: We know when and were the Kaiser will strike. We can blow the lid off this thing.
More glances. This time there's shock. Pepa arches a brow. Silvia furrows hers. Paco catches her eye, and comes closer.
PACO: And in the process, clear the name of someone that we all know.
Their eyes meet, knowing exactly who he means. Silvia's mouth twitches. Pepa has grown increasingly anxious, and has begun to fidget, eyeing Silvia in concern.
PACO: I can't order you to do this because we're going to cross the line. If anyone here does not want to do this - step forward now.
Povedilla's PHONE begins to light up - beeping an alarm.
POVEDILLA: the baby's alarm.
Impatient Pepa throws her head back in exasperation and exhales, hands on her hips.
POVEDILLA: I'm going to take a step forward but don't take that as me backing out, okay?
PACO: Povedilla, just grab the phone-
Pepa fidgets some more. Povedilla begins to shimmy forward sideways.
POVEDILLA: I'll step forward but sideways-
PACOD: Povedilla pick up the damn phone!
He silences the phone and edges back to his place in line.
PACO: Well
The tension is threatening to overwhelm the room. Paco glances uneasily at Silvia, and with good reason. He's taking a REAL chance on Silvia here. She is his superior - very close to her father, very by the book. She could easily rat them out and have every reason to do so. They're banking a helluva lot on family and Silvia's affection for her ex.
But she only stares at him, unsure what to think. Paco hesitates, and finally just presses a button the computer set up in front of them.
The screen comes to life. On it, a video feed of Lucas staring at them.
Silvia blinks and she stares helplessly at Paco, too unnerved to grasp what is happening.
SILVIA: Paco this is a video, right?
LUCAS: It's not a video, Redhead. I'm alive.
Rita, Povedilla and Curtis, who were staring mournfully at the video, drop their jaws in surprise.
Pepa's eyes widening, immediately jerk to her girlfriend to gauge her reaction. Silvia is overwhelmed. Tears flood her eyes as she blindly reaches for Pepa, clutching onto her for support.
LUCAS: I'm sorry. I'm really sorry I made you all believe I was dead. I didn't have another option.
Silvia's tears begin to fall. Pepa embraces her and presses a reassuring kiss against Silvia's temple.
Povedilla is speechless. He and Rita clutch each other joyfully.
LUCAS: They accused me of being corrupt. They blamed me for Smith. For Salazar. They wouldn't let me live.
Paco sighs unsteadily. Silvia's joy has begun to manifest itself as a smiling Pepa holds onto her.
LUCAS: I didn't have another option.
With a tearful, ecstatic grin, Silvia glances at Pepa. They lock eyes and Silvia throws her arms around Pepa as the couple embraces joyfully.
LATER
The excitement over the happy reveal that Lucas is still alive has died down in favor of listening to what they have to do. Pepa is also focused on Silvia, watching her carefully as she keeps her hand on Silvia's knee reassuringly.
LUCAS: In four hours. At a military base. And I need all of you.
Curtis lifts his hand.
CURTIS: Wait, Lucas. What Military Base? The air base? No.
MARIANO: The very one. How the hell are we going to take control of a military base. And without authorization? No, Paco!
Silvia can only stare fondly at Lucas. A small smile floats onto her lips.
Mariano keeps going on and on about his paranoid doubts to Paco. Pepa watches the exchange silently.
Lucas interrupts.
LUCAS: Okay - wait a minute. Wait. I know it's dangerous. But these people are murderers. They've tortured people. They've kidnapped them. And they're going to keep doing it until we stop it, and we WILL stop it. The only thing is we're going to have to do this discretely because no one is going to believe a thing coming from me.
The group is quiet.
Curtis jolts up.
CURTIS: SubInspector Lucas Fernandez. Count me in.
Povedilla stands.
POVEDILLA: Me too.
Tears glistening in her eyes, Silvia watches. Rita stands and issues a nervous but sincere smile.
RITA: You can count on me too, Lucas.
Silvia finally stands slowly coming forward. All eyes are on her. She is, after all, the superior in the room, and Lucas' ex-wife. For Mariano, she's also the last shot to shoot this crazy plan down.
No one watches Silvia's reaction more carefully than Pepa - Silvia's current lover.
Silvia eyes the screen affectionately.
SILVIA: You're never going to fucking change, Lucas.
He grins unsteadily. Silvia sighs, and finally nods.
SILVIA: Okay. For the old times.
Mariano blinks. Paco smiles, and Silvia just shakes her head in resignation, a smile broadening. Lucas smiles gently, the significance of what she's saying not lost on him.
LUCAS: Thank you, Redhead.
Grateful and overwhelmed with affection, Paco offers his sister-in-law a meaningful embrace.
Mariano shits his pants, because if Silvia's in, then they're really fucked.
Pepa rises slowly - she doesn't need to say anything. She embraces Silvia from behind and presses another kiss against her head, completing the Miranda sibling group hug.
LUCAS: Thank you, guys. There's just one thing. We have a bit of a deadline because at 8PM I have an engagement. I'm getting married. To Sara.
The siblings release Silvia. Everyone blinks in shock.
LUCAS: Just an idea that popped into our heads.
The room erupts in joyful disbelief. Silvia rolls her eyes good-naturedly. Pepa stares at her brother.
PEPA: No!
He nods happily. Pepa gives him a happy kiss and embrace as Rita erupts in cheers and claps.
RITA: Congratulations, Paco!
Everyone ecstatically congratulates Paco. Except Mariano, who is not happy. At all.
LATER
Lucas has hung up, and the group is still in the briefing room, now going over the blueprints of the base they'll be infiltrating. Mariano is getting himself more and more worked up.
MARIANO: Paco, this is a military base. We don't have authorization - not from Central, not from the military. There are 4 security check points. Alarms at every exit. And patrol from the military police 24/7 - Paco, we're in over our heads! This is ridiculous!
Povedilla exhales, hearing the odds.
POVEDILLA: Inspector. If it doesn't matter to you, I'd like to ask that Rita not join us for the secret mission.
Rita and the girls glance up, unsure if they should be offended.
POVEDILLA: Because what if they catch us? One of us is going to have to take care of the baby.
Touched at his thoughtfulness, Rita smiles.
POVEDILLA: And a mother is a mother.
They clasp hands. Paco clasps his hand on his shoulder.
PACO: Of course, Povedilla. Of course.
POVEDILLA: Thank you, Inspector.
Pepa and Silvia watch as Povedilla and Rita embrace as the gravity of the situation sinks in.
Through the window, Paco notices Lola heading up the stairs, searching for him. He's overwhelmed - she doesn't have her daughter, and if they get caught - she'll lose Pepa, Paco and Silvia too.
His eyes flood with tears.
PACO: Lola
Pepa lifts her hand off Silvia's knee and stands, watching her brother's distress. Silvia rises with her, and they carefully move behind Paco.
Silvia glances at Pepa and asks a question with just a nod and a meaningful stare. Eyes darkening in sympathy, Pepa nods. (MINDMELD!)
SILVIA: Paco
He jerks back, blinking in surprise.
PACO: What?
SILVIA: If you want, Pepa and I can stay behind with Lola.
He stares at them, and realizes they were watching. He casts one last glance at Lola, still searching for him. Tears clouding his eyes, he nods gratefully.
PACO: Please.
Mariano shits another brick. Paco comes forward and embraces his sister-in-law and his sister.
PACO: Thank you.
Pepa gives him a loving kiss. Paco pulls back.
PACO: Well, I'm going to go see if Don Lorenzo will give us permission to go over there, okay?
They nod. He turns to go, but Mariano starts in AGAIN about the effin' military base and how dangerous it is. (at this point I want to kick chicken-shit Mariano a lot. This feeling will not change most of the episode. FYI). Paco agrees with me.
PACO: Mariano leave me the fuck alone!
He heads out. Still babbling, Mariano follows him.
LATER
Lola gives Paco an antique cuckoo clock that has been in the family for generations and tells him to give it to Lucas. They might not be at the wedding, but this cuckoo clock will.
At the beach hotel, Allison arrives, searching for Lucas. She sees an oblivious Sara instead.
Mariano visits Salgado, who is tearing herself up over the failed Kaiser assignment. She said if she had done her job and maybe even listened to what Lucas had to say, Mariano's best friend wouldn't be dead right now. Mariano, unable to see her so down on herself, and freaking about what they're doing to do, decides to tell her that Lucas is still alive.
Paco goes to see DL and gets permission to head to the military base for a bogus assignment. DL wonders what the fuck he's pulling but Salgado comes in and makes him gives Paco permission. She has decided to use this mission and Mariano to trap Lucas.
In the briefing room, Curtis is about to get his hair cut, but he freaks out. Povedilla, upon hearing that they'll be getting on a plane, freaks out too - so Curtis grabs him and tells him he's going to give him a pill to relax.
IN THE LOCKER ROOM
Silvia and Pepa have met up with Lola. Rita walks in with a big smile.
RITA: Look whose here!? How's the mother of the bride!?
She gives Lola a big hug. Silvia and Pepa give each other a sweet smile and come forward.
RITA: Congratulations, honey. I'm so happy!
Pepa embraces her from the side.
PEPA: You must be crazy excited.
LOLA: Yes. Yes I'm crazy excited but I'd be happier being 600 miles from here.
Silvia and Pepa toss each other a look.
LOLA: With a crazy hat on my head and heels that are ridiculous and telling the camera guy what to do but I'm here.
MINDMELD ALERT. Silvia and Pepa again have an unspoken conversation. Pepa leans down.
PEPA: Well you know what?
LOLA: Mmm?
PEPA: The bachelorette party is one thing you're not going to miss.
Rita and Lola blink.
PEPA: It's one thing for Sara to be so far away. But who's to say that we can't be with her via video conference?
RITA: ooh.
PEPA: Or not?
Silvia smiles at Lola, nodding her encouragement.
PEPA: We'll get some music, some food - we can put on those head bands that we had the day of my friend's bachelorette party!
RITA: I have them! I saved them!
Silvia kneels and grabs hold of Lola's hand, as Rita jumps in happiness. Lola smiles, bittersweet, but cheered.
MEANWHILE
Paco, unaware that Mariano has told Salgado everything, apologizes to him and gives him a big hug. They go on their mission.
Don Lorenzo, bolstered by an email that he thinks was sent by Marina (but was in fact sent by Mariano, who began by saying, "I want you to know that I see you only as a professional-" but ended up accidentally deleting have of it and sending only 'I want you', tries to make a move, but Marina, shocked as hell, rebuffs him.
She tells him Lucas is alive.
CACHI'S
At Cachis, the girls are setting up their video conference as Rita cuts some meat.
SILVIA: Now!?
PEPA: Now!
Lola, Silvia and Pepa shriek with pleasure when the picture comes live and they see Sara staring back at them.
SILVIA: Hi beautiful!
PEPA: Who's going to speak first?
SILVIA: Me-me-me-me! Because Lucas is my ex-husband, and now he's going to be my nephew!
She laughs at the ridiculousness of it.
SILVIA: Seriously, Sara. When you come back, I'm going to take you both by your little hands to the amusement park.
Sara sticks her tongue out at her playfully.
RITA: Me too! I want to go too!
They erupt in good-natured bickering. Silvia gets everyone's attention with a clank of her fork against her beer bottle.
SILVIA: Quiet! Let's see: as the first wife of the husband-to-be and biological aunt to the bride-to be, I get to be the first to speak. Sara, there's something you need to know about Lucas.
SARA: What?
RITA: Ooh - it's going to be something hot!
SILVIA: No. No,no,no. His peeing.
They burst into laughter.
SILVIA: Everytime he goes to pee he leaves these little drops behind. You can tell him a million times. You can buy him a toilet bowl THIS big!
She spreads her arms wide and Sara cracks up.
SARA: Ay, Aunt!
SILVIA: As great as his aim is when he shoots, that's how bad it is when he pees.
SARA: Okay, okay, that's enough! No!
Silvia blows her a kiss.
PEPA: Well I'm not going to tell you anything, Sara. I'm going to let actions speak for themselves based on your aunt. After she was married to Lucas?
She proudly slings an arm over Silvia's shoulder. Silvia blushes immediately, knowing exactly where this is going. Lola grins.
PEPA: She changed teams.
She plants a kiss on Silvia's lips. Embarrassed, Silvia jerks away and hides her blush and sheepish grin behind Lola as Pepa and Lola crack up.
SARA: You're together?! That's great! I'm so happy!
RITA: So the two you have been .
She rubs her fingers together suggestively and then covers her face as she erupts in giggles.
SARA: There'll be another wedding soon.
Still blushing, Silvia rolls her eyes and stands up to get the champagne.
SILVIA: Who knows?
PEPA: Yes!
LOLA: Yes!
[transcribers note: this is actually a pretty interesting moment for Pepa/Silvia/Sara. Up until last year, Silvia had pretty much decided she would always be in love with Lucas (as recently as her pregnancy, which made her all hormonal), despite the knowledge that he loved Sara. The fact that Silvia is able to be so happy for Sara/Lucas' nuptials and even joke about the possibility of marrying Pepa is a huge indicator of just how much she's moved on and how much she loves Pepa. For Pepa's part, her reveal of their relationship to Sara could have had some underlying motives: by showing Sara that Silvia has moved on, she's basically giving her niece her own wedding gift - the ability to be truly happy on her wedding day without the nagging knowledge that she was doing so at the expense of Silvia's happiness. Well-played all around.]
Lola smacks Silvia's ass playfully as Rita comes forward.
RITA: Princess! I was cutting up the sausage. One thing, one thing.
SARA: Tell me, Rita.
RITA: I don't know if you're if you're going into this completely whole or not
Everyone rolls their eyes.
RITA: I don't know! It doesn't matter. The only thing I want to tell you is go for it! Head first! Night and day, night and day! I waited way too long to learn about all that stuff. And that's really sad! But well, I love you a whole heck of a lot. And I'm sending you a big kiss from me and the baby!
SARA: Okay.
RITA: A big kiss!
It's Lola's turn.
LOLA: Well, after these sound words of wisdom, I'm just going to tell you one thing. I'm really jealous of the wedding you're going to have. A couple that loves each other. Fugitives. In hiding.
Silvia and Pepa smile at each other.
LOLA: You're going to have a wedding without cake or boring stories. Without that oppressive uncle that keeps wanting to threaten the groom. You're going to have the most beautiful wedding in the world. And I love you very much, honey. Very much.
SARA: Thank you, Mom. I love you too.
Everyone wipes at their tears. Silvia breaks the quiet.
SILVIA: Well, let's toast, right?
Everyone grabs a glass.
SARA: Me too! I'll toast too!
She scrambles off the bed and runs for the bathroom as the girls continue to playfully argue.
Silvia pops the cork and everyone cheers. Sara comes running back with a glass of water.
SARA: okay!
LOLA: okay okay - [she notices sara] Look!
Pepa's smile fades.
PEPA: Oh, no. No, Sarita, don't toast with water, please! It's bad luck, please! Not with water!
SARA: Not for me. I'm the luckiest woman in the world.
They clink glasses and toast.
PEPA: For the groom!
EVERYONE: For the groom!
They toast.
MEANWHILE
Lucas reunites with the group at the military base. He hugs Paco, super excited about getting married.
Mariano, who has been given the instruction to hug Lucas and that will signal to Salgado to move in, begins to feel conflicted (oh NOW you're conflicted?). He finally just hugs Lucas and takes his gun.
Salgado and Don Lorenzo move in. Everyone is frozen. Lucas sees the plane he's looking for.
AT CACHIS
Sara dances for her mother, the canopy on the bed hanging on her head like a veil.
Behind them, Silvia and Pepa dance together.
LOLA: [vo] I would have loved to see Sara dance the waltz after the banquet. Dance with Lucas, and then with her dad, like when she was a kid and would step on his shoes at the parties in the neighborhood, and he would swing her around.
ALISON has come back, ready to crash the party.
SARA: Chicas! Chicas!
Pepa and Silvia twirl each other around, but Rita gets their attention.
They gather around the monitor.
SARA: Well well I have to start getting ready - it's close to time!
ALISON steps outside the hotel room.
SARA: Well, bye chicas!
LOLA: Good bye, my love.
SARA: Bye my mom! The next time you see me, you'll call me Mrs. Fernandez!
Pepa salutes her smartly.
SARA: And don't worry mom, I'm going to record it all on my cell phone so you can see it.
LOLA: I love you.
SILVA: Smooches.
SARA: Back at you.
ALISON pulls out her gun.
Sara puts down her phone and heads into the bathroom.
RITA: She didn't turn it off right!
The feed is still going.
Allison enters the frame. Lola blinks.
LOLA: Hey!
PEPA: What's up?
LOLA: I think there's someone there with her.
They look to see.
Sara comes out of the bathroom, and Alison, startled, points her gun at her.
The women watch in horror.
Sara delivers a kick, knocking the gun out of Allison's hands and flinging it onto the bed. They start to fight.
LOLA: They're fighting!
Alison and Sara keep fighting.
LOLA: She's fighting with someone! Sara, my love!
Silvia clamps her hands over Lola's mouth, keeping her quiet.
Sara puts up a game fight, but Alison taller and deadlier, gets the better of her, flinging her onto the bed.
The women can only watch an unclear fuzzy feed, hearing grunts as Sara fights for her life.
Alison gets on top of Sara and starts to strangle her, asking her where Lucas is. Sara responds that Lucas knows where the Kaiser is and went after him.
Alison smiles.
ALISON: I doubt that very much. I'm the Kaiser.
Sara's eyes widen in horror.
IN THE HANGER
Lucas recites the code of the police to DL and tells him that he needs to get on that plane. Salgado threatens to shoot him if he moves, so Paco and Curtis stand in the line of fire.
Lucas TAKES OFF toward the plane.
AT CACHIS
Lola is beside herself as she listens to the struggle.
Alison's hands tighten, strangling Sara.
Sara flails for the gun.
They struggle with it.
At Cachis, the women SCREAM when they hear TWO shots go off.
They're stricken with horror.
And they have no idea what to do.
ON THE TRUCK
Alison has survived, and settles into the back of her truck to begin the next phase of her plan. She is shot in her shoulder and is bleeding badly. She inputs the codes and activates the virus that was given to her by Povedilla (when he was infiltrating the prison as a hacker).
ON THE PLANE
Lucas dashes on board of the plane. The group chases after him, and Salgado's men grab a hold of him. He gestures wildly to the box in the hold, and says that this is what the Kaiser's gang was after. After a moment's consideration, Salgado calls for authorization and has the men open it. They see tons of bricks of gold.
Hiding in the hold, Arietta winces.
Suddenly the door of the plane begins to close, and the group is trapped inside as the plane starts moving. DL rushes to see who is driving the plane and realizes the pilots have been killed.
It's Alison who has taken control of the plane, via Povedilla's virus.
On the plane, Povedilla begins to freak out that they're taking off, and Curtis gives him more pills to calm him down.
The plane takes off, and ground control tells them there is a virus in the network and it's being used to control the plane. They can retake control of the plane but someone has to cut the throttle at four thousand feet and hold the plane steady until the people on the ground can take control of it.
Mariano is the only one with any flying experience, and he freaks at the suggestion, but Lucas breaks free from the men and silently demands that Salgado give him the headset. Desperate, Salgado does. Lucas hands it to Mariano, and the three friends head to the cockpit.
AT CACHIS

In the wake of the shooting, the women are frantic. As Pepa futzes with the computer, Lola and Rita try to reach their husbands on their cellphones. Lola is desperate and terrified.
LOLA: He's not responding. And neither does Paco! They're out of service!
RITA: Jose Luis isn't picking up either.
Pepa is desperately raw as she searches the video feed.
PEPA: Let's try to find where Sara is. I recorded the call from before and and it looks like where she is there's a door there's a curtain-
Lola can't take it. She erupts in anger.
LOLA: But WHAT ARE YOU SAYING, PEPA?! For the love of God, you can't SEE ANYTHING! That room can be anywhere!
They fade into silence. Silvia remerges from the entrance.
SILVIA: That was Montoya, he just talked to De Gualle (the French Interpol Agent). They just registered the numerical sequence that we inserted into the Kaiser's virus (given to the Kaiser by Povedilla when he was undercover as a hacker). They just activated the virus.
This is devastating news. The entire season has been about keeping this exact thing from happening, because they don't know WHAT will be stolen when the virus activates, or what the Kaiser's ultimate plan is.
Rita gasps, Pepa buries her head in her hands. Lola just stares, confused.
SILVIA: And they're trying to locate the signal. We need to get back to the station.
Immediately, Pepa claps shut the laptop and heads for the door.
RITA: Oh God! Run Run!
Lola, a civilian, is lost and angry about it.
LOLA: What do you mean, go to the station!? Wait a minute! What happens with Sara?!
SILVIA: LOLA! If they've gone after Sara it's because of Lucas! It has to be someone in the Kaiser's gang!
Pepa and Rita watch fitfully. Lola is beside herself.
LOLA: But what is that!? The Kaiser! WHAT IS THAT?!
Silvia grabs her sister's hand.
SILVIA: Lola, if we find the Kaiser? We find Sara.
Lola stares, finally getting it. Silvia drags her to the door as they head out.
ON THE PLANE
YOUTUBELINK: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=47ojtmZJWgU
Mariano, Lucas and Paco sit in strained silence in the cockpit. Mariano tries to explain that he betrayed them to protect Lucas, but understands if Lucas hates him.
Lucas calmly tells him that he's getting married today, and he has his bride and the rings and the father-in-law, but what he doesn't have is the best man. He asks if Mariano will be his best man.
Mariano is touched, and before he can answer, they reach four thousand feet. Mariano cuts the engine, and the plane begins to careen down. As they plummet, Mariano asks what the best man does. Lucas says the best man hugs the groom and tells him everything will be okay. Mariano takes his hands off the throttle to do so, but Lucas screams at him NOT NOW.
Ground control retakes control of the plane. DL, who has been holding Salgado securely, has a moment with the woman he loves, but she thanks him uncomfortably and backs away.
Mariano clasps Lucas hand and tells him he will be happy to be the best man.
AT THE PRECINT
In an office, the four women have rendezvoused with Montoya, and are trying to make sense of the video that Pepa recorded on the laptop. Pepa leans over Silvia, watching as Silvia works with the feed.
PEPA: Lola had a point. This could be anywhere.
Lola sighs frantically.
LOLA: Where is Sara!?
SILVIA: Wait, here you can hear something! Listen - before the gunshot-
She fiddles with the controls. We hear grunts, noise and -
ALISON: --- Kaiser -
RITA: There's way too much noise. You can't understand it.
MONTOYA: See if you can clean it up, Silvia.
SILVIA: Yes.
She tries again. The sound comes again, Sara struggling. Loud breaths. And then -
ALISON: I am the Kaiser.
The group reacts with shock. The gunshot CLAPS out loud, startling Lola. Pepa processes what she's heard (and wins the award for Captain Obvious of this episode) as she whirls on Montoya.
PEPA: The Kaiser is a chick!
SILVIA: She had an English Accent!
MONTOYA: Alison!
He flashes back - putting the pieces together: the call that ordered Povedilla's death when he was under cover that was traced to the recording found in the warehouse - was recorded by Alison. She also made the call to the recording and handed the phone to Salazar.
Stunned, it sinks in.
MONTOYA: okay, okay-okay - send this video to all the provinces and all of La Gualle's officials - see if someone recognizes something-
He gets a phone call and steps out.
Pepa looks to a stricken Lola clinging to Rita and kneels down in front of her, trying to off her her distraught support.
ON THE PLANE/TRUCK
Alison is bleeding and in trying to tape up her wound, she misses what has happened until she realizes that she has lost control of the plane.
She calls Arietta and tells him he needs him to act now. He replies that the police are armed like crazy. She replies that he figure out a way to get the plane to the drop off point or he'll be spending the rest of his life locked up.
Bleeding, she's fading fast.
AT THE PRECINCT
Montoya returns.
MONTOYA: Okay we have it. The virus is originating from a mobile unit moving through Madrid. Alison has to be there. Ladies, prepare for the operation.
Silvia glances up to Pepa (MINDMELD!) - Pepa nods back stoicly.
MONTOYA: We need vests, assault weapons, smoke grenades - everything. We're going to arrest the Kaiser. Let's go.
Once again, Pepa's the first towards the door. As Rita and Silvia follow, Lola gets to her feet.
LOLA: I'm going with you.
Pepa and Rita are already out the door, but with Silvia, they head back.
MONTOYA: Lola Lola that's not possible.
RITA: Darling, it's really dangerous! You can't come!
SILVIA: Lola - we're going to bring Sara back. I promise you.
Pepa nods. Lola needs more than that.
LOLA: It's my daughter whose disappeared. And I want to be there when you arrest that Kaiser person - whoever it is. I'm going with you.
Silvia looks desperately back at Montoya, and silently begs him to accept. Montoya's conflicted, but he nods.
MONTOYA: Let's go.
They go.
ON THE PLANE
YOUTUBELINK: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vvtYqqcOyYI
Povedilla freaks out again - he's never going to see his little girl again. Curtis gives him more pills to calm him down.
Lucas kicks himself for being late to every important event in his life. He realizes that they're flying over where he needs to be and the three friends begin to rush to the cargo hold, fitting Lucas with a parachute.
Salgado freaks out - telling him he can't go. Lucas replies that he's sorry, he can't stay - he won't keep the bride waiting - he's getting married.
She tells him she just can't let him go. He replies that she can. She battles within herself, but Mariano steps into Salgado's line of fire. She asks him what he's doing and he tells her that he's the best man, and it's the duty of the best man to make sure the groom gets to his wedding.
Salgado finally puts down the gun.
The best friends hug, and Paco asks Lucas to take care of Sarah and gives him Lola's cuckoo clock. Lucas parachutes off the plane.
Paco and Mariano hug each other in celebration.
In the distraction, Arietta comes up behind Salgado and puts a gun to Salgado's head. He instructs the men to put down their guns or he'll shoot her.
DL, unwilling to sacrifice the woman he loves, orders the men to surrender.
IN THE DESERT
YOUTUBE LINK: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Da5ey46VQBI
Lucas lands in the middle of the desert. He flags down a passing guy on a motorcycle and asks him to take him to the church: he's getting married.
Happily, the guy agrees.
IN THE VAN
Montoya, Rita, Pepa, Silvia and Lola sit with two officers in the mobile van - tracking the unit as it moves.
Lola has retreated inside herself - numb with worry for her child. Now that Silvia has nothing to do, her constraint on her emotions has slipped significantly. She glances to her sister and attempts to comfort her.
Withdrawn, Lola doesn't acknowledge her.
Unable to help Lola, and suddenly drowning in her own fear, Silvia turns to her right, looking for Pepa.
Pepa immediately notices, as Silvia, desperately needing strength, reaches quietly for her hand. MINDMELD ALERT!
Pepa grabs hold. They entwine their fingers tightly, and Pepa silently grips her again with her free hand, doing her best to silently express to her lover that it will be okay.
Silvia sucks in harsh breaths, clinging to Pepa's and the reassuring look in her eyes.
[TRANSCRIBER'S NOTE: Going to drift into geekdom here and remark upon the significance of Silvia reaching out for Pepa: this is kinda huge. Throughout the series, hand holding has been used to signify the growing intimacy between Pepa/Silvia.
When they first hook up - they hold hands to absorb their mutual attraction. The next day, Pepa takes Silvia's hand when she confesses she is in love with her. In the hanger, Pepa offers her hand and asks Silvia for hers before they take their walk. When they're discovered by DL, Silvia reaches for Pepa and draws her in, claiming her as her lover.
This is the culmination of those motions: Silvia reaching for Pepa's hand not just willingly, but because she needs it, and Pepa taking it and offering her strength. Increasingly significant when you take into account Silvia's past hesitation to get involved with Pepa because of a) her wasteland of a lovelife and b) her inability to see herself with a woman. Geek time over. Moving on.]
Rita and Montoya have their attention on the monitors, but the movement distracts Montoya, and he glances back.
He sees Pepa & Silvia's intimately clasped hands - clinging so tightly to each other the knuckles are white. Caught by the sight, he can't look away.
Rita glances back to see what he's staring at and realizing he's catching on. Aware of his crush on Pepa (and his past with Silvia), she looks away in sympathy.
Still unsure what to make of the startling intimate moment, Montoya looks up to the object of his affection - and sees that Pepa only has eyes for Silvia.
Indeed, at that moment, Pepa is pouring every ounce of her affection and her strength into Silvia with a gentle, loving smile and a tear-soaked stare.
Silvia silently blinks back, the love in her eyes obvious and apparent. The light dawns for Montoya: Pepa and Silvia are not just friends.
Silvia, suddenly aware she is being watched, turns her head. Stunned, stricken, shocked, Montoya can only stare at his former lover.
Pepa looks to see what has caught Silvia's attention, and notices Montoya staring at Silvia. She glances between them, but only manages a bitter smile before glancing away.
Silvia, however, can't look away. This is Montoya, one of her best friends, her ex-lover, and he would have been the father of her baby. She stares at him beseechingly, but does not drop Pepa's hand.
Finally, Montoya manages a small, gentle smile of comfort. It's okay.
Relieved, Silvia manages a smile of her own, and a small blink of apology: not just for taking Pepa, but for the final nail in the Montoya-Silvia coffin. She has chosen to love someone and it's not Montoya.
Montoya turns back, clearly devastated. Rita smiles with affection for the kind-hearted lug and claps his shoulder in support.
ON THE PLANE/TRUCK
The hombres plus DL and Salgado have been taken captive and are now seated together, handcuffed. Arietta takes control of the plane and once again activates the virus.
Alison, growing paler by the minute, is pleased.
Two fighter jets take off from a naval ship - heading to intercept.
IN THE DESERT
Lucas arrives and thanks to the motorcycle guy, who gives him flowers and fruit as his wedding gift. Lucas calls out for the father and happily greets him with his fresh clothes and some soap.
Lucas washes in a nearby basin, and with the priest's help, cleans up and combs his hair. They're both giddy with the results.
The local band Lucas has befriended shows up to play at his wedding.
IN THE MOBILE VAN
The group is still in route. Then - they see it.
MONTOYA: The truck! TANGO-ONE, TANGO-TWO, TANGO-FOUR, TANGO-FIVE, we have it! That's the truck!
Silvia turns to Lola.
SILVIA: Lola, we're going to bring back Sara, I promise you.
Montoya barks out another set of instructions - to surround the truck.
MONTOYA: We're going to intercept them.
The women nod.
MONTOYA: [into the radio] All units prepare to intercept.
The van zooms forward and cuts in front of the truck.
The TRUCK jerks. Alison asks via radio what happened.
The group exits the van. Lola stays behind but stares after them, going from numb to PISSED.
I
N THE TRUCK - Alison hears a noise.

She fumbles for her gun and tells Arrietta to open the cargo bay doors. He asks if she's serious but she tells him to do it, and begins to carefully move to one side of the truck, until she hears a noise.
Gun raised, she shakily heads to the other side -
Waiting just outside the door are our heroes: guns drawn, ready to take her.
IN THE PLANE: Arietta comes forward, and watches as the hostages struggle to stay upright in the midst of the open door behind them.
IN THE TRUCK: Alison edges closer - but MONTOYA is there, a gun to her head, pushing her back into the room.
There's a tense moment, and then Alison JERKS his gun to the side, knocking it into Silvia's gun. She runs to the other side.
MONTOYA: Freeze! Freeze! Hands up or I open fire!
Alison points her own gun at him. She smirks.
ALISON: No. You're not going to fire. You're going to put the weapons on the floor, and you're going to let me go. Six of your police officers are taken hostage on a plane 5 thousand feet in the air.
Silvia jerks a panicked looked at Montoya - Paco and his men.
ALISON: It's your choice - you can let me go through that door, or I'll give the order that they drop them one by one off the plane.
ARRIETA stares down the group, taking his time choosing.
IN THE TRUCK - the standoff continues - PEPA, never one for patience, is not going to let this go. She starts forward.
PEPA: That's not going to happen-
ALISON: SCHT! One more step, and you'll be down to five.
SILVIA: HANDS UP! You're under arrest!
But Alison doesn't bluff.
ALISON: Arrieta. Drop the first.
Pepa reacts - staring at Montoya: he doesn't know what to do.
ARRIETA points his gun and calls out the first.
Pepa's done waiting.
PEPA: No!
She puts up her hands, surrendering.
Silvia stares, horrified. Montoya keeps his gun up, unwilling, but Pepa moves in front of him and stares meaningfully at Silvia.
PEPA; No.
She motions for Silvia to put the gun down. Grimacing, Silvia tosses Alison a wild look but does so, sinking to the floor with Pepa.
Alison's mouth twitches in triumph.
Behind them, Montoya will not relinquish his gun, but Rita lifts her hands.
MINDMELDALERT! On the floor, Pepa and Silvia crouch, well aware that the focus is no longer on them but Montoya and his gun.
Pepa shoots Silvia a glance - and immediately Silvia knows what Pepa intended. She nods, and waits -
Pepa and Silvia JOLT to their feet. Pepa grabs hold of Alison's gun, jerking it up so it will fire harmlessly toward the ceiling. With brute force she disarms Alison and yanks down Alison's arms behind her back, holding her steady.
Silvia is already behind her, handcuffing her.
They've got the Kaiser (Mindmelding saves lives).
[TRANSCRIBERS NOTE: This particular mindmeld should not be attempted by amateurs. FYI. Pepa and Silvia are pros - how else would you get, "We're only pretending to surrender but when I mentally say 'go' I'm going to grab her gun and you run behind her, and then when I disarm her I'm going to put her hands behind her back and you handcuff her, kay?" from a couple of nods?]
Rita's gun goes back up, as Montoya lowers his, informing the group that they have the Kaiser in custody.
Silvia and Pepa secure her as Montoya grabs the headset off her ear.
MONTOYA: Arrieta? This is Inspector Gonzalo Montoya. Allison Morris is in custody. This thing is going to end right now.
Arrieta is stunned.
In the truck, Alison is stonefaced. Montoya calls again for Arietta as Pepa holds onto Alison.
No one notices that Lola has entered the truck except Alison - who shoots the mother of Sara a cruel smile.
Lola lunges forward.
LOLA: Where is SARA!?
She attacks Alison. Pepa struggles to hold onto her as Rita and Silvia try to tear Lola away.
Lola collapses with grief.
Montoya presses the headpiece against Allison's ear.
MONTOYA: Give the order. GIVE THE FUCKING ORDER!
But Alison faints.
LATER:
Alison is being taken away, freeing Pepa to crouch at Lola's feet, clutching onto her as Silvia holds Lola from behind.
Montoya valiantly tries to talk Arietta down from throwing a hostage off the plane.
Arietta won't listen.
Hope is fading for the women, as they stare at Montoya, well aware that their husbands, their brothers, their fathers, their family is on the plane. And there's still no clue where Sara is.
YOUTUBE LINK: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=QPabuVLLABk
MONTOYA: Don't do it. The Kaiser has fallen. You're going to go away for 50 years for killing six people. You don't have an escape. We have the truck. We have the documents - we have everything. We'll be waiting for you. Reconsider. You're beaten.
But a jet pilot cuts in on the radio.
OFFICER: Here comes one. We have visual contact. A body is falling from the plane. I repeat, a body is falling from the plane. Confirmed.
The women and Montoya cast each other stricken, terrified glances.
Lola clutches desperately onto Silvia. Montoya stares at Pepa. Desolate, Pepa curls her head onto Lola's lap, lost.
AT THE CHURCH
Lucas, handsome as ever, carefully sets the cuckoo clock that Paco gave him and the flowers on the mantel and waits for Sara.
And waits.
And waits.
And waits some more.
Suddenly the doors open, and the music starts. Sara has arrived in a white dress. She comes to Lucas, and they exchange vows.
But something's wrong. Sara is weak, and though Lucas is concerned, she pleads for him to continue.
As they say their I do's, the priest pronounces them man and wife.
As Lucas kisses Sara, she collapses in Lucas' arms. A blood soaked wound seeps from her gut.
Lucas gathers her up and places her on the bench, panicked and screaming for a doctor.
MEANWHILE - a body falls in the air. There's no way of knowing who it is.
